My Summer 2018 Plans

Gosh. This Summer is bound to be one to remember. I have so much planned, and I just hope I get to do it all.

Disclaimer: I am in no way trying to brag. I just wanted to update you guys on my life.

Concerts and Concerts GALORE. I am so thankful to be able to go see some of my absolute favorite bands/artists this summer. I was able to get a Country Megaticket. I am so excited to see all of the artists with a variety of my favorite people. From Rascal Flatts and Kenny Chesney in early Summer to Dierks Bentley and everyone in between.

Hiking and other Outdoor Adventures. I am hoping to be able to go hiking with my brother quite a bit this Summer as well as visiting some other fun other sights in NC.

Movies. I am very interested in going to a local Drive-In movie theater, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that.

Carowinds. I also want to go to Carowinds at least once this Summer, but I am not sure I will get to do that either.

Beach. I have a beach trip planned in mid-August and I literally cannot wait. I love the beach so much (as you all know).

All in all, this Summer will prove to be one of the best ones yet.

From the Girl Who Can’t Live Without Her Parents

Honestly, I don’t understand how parents can be so different sometimes. There are parent who don’t care to be involved in their kid’s life, there are parents who won’t back off of their kids, there are parents who can’t spend time with their kids because they work to pay the bills, and there are so many more variations of parents and how they treat their kids.

Having the parents that I do, I could never give them up. I mean, I did move away, but I still see them every week. I literally cannot imagine having to live without my parents. Judge me if you want, but I think that my parents are my best friends.

I mean is there a better best friend than a parent who truly cares about you and your wellbeing? I think not. My parents are always going to be by my side and they would never do anything to hurt me. They are always going to be there for me. They are always going to support me. They are always going to LOVE me.

You can sit there and argue that your best friend is always going to be there, but let’s face it… friendships end on whims, they end because of petty fights, and they end because they just weren’t meant to last. Friendships are for years where family is for a lifetime.

I don’t care what anyone has to say about me or the way I live my life. All I know is that I would never give up the time that I get with my family for anything in this world.

I love you Mama and Daddy (and Justin too).

The endless country sayings will have you laughing on the floor, and you will probably end up using a few yourself.

3. Family Recipes

Date a girl who has the secret pie recipe from her grandmother. At a young age, girls are taught that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

4. Beach or Mountains, Take Your Pick

One of the great things about North Carolina is that you can turn a weekend into a quick vacation to either the mountains or the beach! Both are just a few hours away, and are perfect day trip dates.

5. Sporting Events

Here in the south, we go crazy over our football, baseball, and basketball games. We go all out! It isn’t an unusual sight to see someone decked out in camo. Also, during football season, Friday night dates are nonexistent. Unless you count watching the game as a date.

6. The Scenery

You don’t have to go down the road far until you run into a picturesque sight. Taking the scenic route on a date is a popular and romantic option.

7. Country Music

We sing it and dance to it. Country girls know how to shake it!

8. Charming Manners

Yes mam, no sir, please, and thank you. We know them all and know how to show respect when you bring us home to meet the parents.

9. Family Loyalty

Family ties run deep and when you get involved with a southern girl, just know that you quickly become a part of the family as well.

10. Sugar, Spice, But Not Always Nice

We’re cute. We’re sweet, but if you push us too far, we take a baseball bat to your truck….Just kidding! But, we aren’t scared to let our tempers fly when things are taken too far. Mama didn’t raise a pushover.

11. Sweet Tea

Ah, come to the south where the tea is sweet, but the girls are sweeter!

12. Cowgirl Attire Is Cute

Because who doesn’t love a girl in boots and a hat?

13. Can Handle The Heat

It gets super hot during the summer, but we know how to handle it and stay cool when you are sweating like a pig.

14. Just Enough Sass

We come with just enough sass to keep you on your toes. Besides, it would be boring if we weren’t sassy!

15. She’ll Go To Church With You

My favorite thing for a guy to say to me. One of the most important things you can do together as a couple and the hardest part is trying to decide whether you attend yours or her church each Sunday!”
